TOPIC: Master Midi?

Master Midi? 10 months, 3 weeks ago #6169

After a few years of playing a SEM Ciao reedless, bought because the carrying weight is light, I find myself longing for real reeds. I know that whatever I buy, probably in the fall, will weigh more that the Ciao, but I also know that I can put the accordion, case and all, on a dolly and be happy with that.

However, I don't want to give up midi. I don't necessarily need an arranger, so either an internal sound card or an external module will do. I like Ketron sounds. I'm very familar with them because I have an SD-2 in one of my computer systems. I also have about all the literature I can get on MusicTech systems and I'm looking forward to hearing their internal sounds and comparing them to the Ketron sounds.
What I haven't been able to find in as much detail is information on Master. Their site is not as well organized as MusicTech's, and I don't know what their internal sounds are like.

Is there anyone here who has familiarity with any or all of these systems and can give me pros and cons of each with regard to ease of use, flexibility and an objective comparison of MusicTech's internal sounds, Master's internal sounds and the sounds of the Ketron SD series?

Thanks.

Alan

While I don't know about any of the above systems, I would throw one more option in the mix.
I have generally been impressed with the Concerto Accordion from Accordions International.
You may want to check it out. The website is at:

www.accordionfactory.com/Concerto/ConcertoSpecifications.aspx

You probably could call them (Paul specifically) and they may have knowledge of the other systems as well as expounding on the benefits of the Concerto.

Thanks, Ben.

Sorry for the delay in answering; I was away for ten days.

I'm going to consider all possibilities, but not until the Fall.

Take care.
